Toothless, Hiccup and all of their friends are going to take flight yet again from the Island of Berk as they soar in to the skies of Netflix as the original series of Netflix for kids comes to the fore in 2015. The company is all set to introduce all new seasons of Dream Works Dragons to members of Netflix in all territories, with France and Germany included. The episodes will be revealed in the spring of 2015.
The show is based upon Dreamwork’s famous How to Train your Dragon films, and the show is expected to bridge the gap between the first film (which was a major success) as well as the sequel, that is highly anticipated in theaters; How to Train Your Dragon 2. The movie is slated for release in the summer. The show will be creating a continuous storyline in order to allow its faithful fans and followers to get a greater understanding of the Dragon universe. The show will delve in to the origins of the flight suit of Hiccup along with the hidden secrets of the dragon blade. It will also introduce romantic elements, involving the young Viking and Astrid.
Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera, who are the main voices behind the two young Viking protagonists in the feature film are going to reprise their roles for the television series, taking their characters of Hiccup and Astrid to all new territories. They will be joined by Christopher Mintz- Plasse and TJ Miller, both of whom will also become the voice behind their characters Fishlegs and Tuffnut.
Ciny Holland, the Vice President of Netflix stated that she was very pleased to be adding DreamWorks Dragons to the growing slate of original series for kids that the company is offering. She also stated that this was one of the most beloved series for kids and adults alike, and she hoped that the series would continue to entertain all audiences for years to come.
