The new Batman-show Gotham, which will air on Netflix in 2015 has just been extended with another six episodes, so the first season now contains a total of 22 episodes.
From the beginning, only 16 episodes were planned for the first season, but after good reviews from both viewers and critics Gotham has been extended with the extra episodes. In total 14 million have seen the Gotham pilot episode.
It is not Netflix that has produced the new Batman-show, but the streaming service have bought the distribution rights so Gotham will come to Netflix shortly after it has aired in the US.
Gotham has an offset in Batman’s “birth”, where you follow the orphan Bruce Wayne in the turbulent days before he becomes Batman. In the show you also follow the young criminal officer James Gorden, who from being a inexperienced police officer becomes chief of police in Gotham City.
In Gotham Ben McKenzie plays criminal officer James Gorden, while David Mazouz is Bruce Wayne. Also Donal Logue (Sons of Anarchy), Jada Pinkett Smith (The Matrix Reloaded) and Sean Partwee (Elementary) stairs in the show.
